Just Like Mama’s

The prompt was simple:

  • less than 1k words

  • romance

  • something southerN (sweet tea is a plus)

”I don’t know. I’m not good at flash fiction,” I told MB.

“It’s like it was made for you though,” she replied.

It was. I’m southern bred and southern raised. i learned how to make sweet tea from my mama, who learned from hers, and back and back for generations.

The main characters in this story are named after my grandparents. Clyde, the Korean War vet who fell head over heels for a waitress at a diner. And Tootsie, the too-y’all, too-skinny country girl serving sweet tea.

Its short and sweet and I hope you’ll love it.
